Since moving to NYC last year every Tuesday evening I have been attending a rather posh affair at the Society of Illustrators. This is drawing done right! There is this beautiful bar there with an original Norman Rockwell adorning the wall among others. A live band usually playing something pretty jazzy. An elevated stage with two incredible nude models. About 50 chairs with little folding tables with every seat filled to capacity. A lively crowd from all walks of life enjoys 3 hours of imbibing, dinner (included) and timed interval drawing. So you see after attending for almost a year I have ended up with a closetful of charcoal sketches. Not wanting these gems to be left inside beatup pads I have resurrected them onto lovely sheets of Fabriano smooth paper with spray enamel lace stencils giving new life to my collected studies. Enjoy and please join me for sketching.
