Parks and recreation, 2020
36X48” oil, oil sticks, spray paint on canvas
Since the Pandemic I have spent restless days aimlessly wandering the parks near my apartment here in New York City. Over time I have seen the masses come out for fresh air. At first it was just a trickle but the warmer Spring became the more they showed up.
I have enjoyed every minute I’ve spent sketching everything I could find in these lovely parks. I got to know my neighborhood. I discovered hidden surprises and beautiful parks. I suspect I never would of ventured in them had it not been for Covid-19 restrictions and circumstances.
This painting is a map of those experiences.
